TEHRAN – Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi said that Iran supplies nearly 70 percent of Iraq’s internet services, Fars News Agency reported.
The northwestern border city Piranshahr is the main hub to transit internet to Iraq, Azari Jahromi said during his trip to Western Azarbaijan Province.
He talked about the government achievements in internet coverage in the province.
Now all 42 cities of the Western Azarbaijan Province have 3G and 4G internet coverage.
A total of 28 percent of the villages of the province benefit from full internet and communication coverage, he said.
Only four percent of villages have no communication and internet coverage in this region, he announced.
